Free Flu Shots Pharmacy Program 2009-10 Flu Season

TLC Key Advantage and TLC HDHP plan members and covered dependents may once again receive free flu shots at participating pharmacies during this year’s flu season. Information on H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine will be provided when it becomes available.

 Follow these easy steps:

  • Go to a retail pharmacy on the list and present your TLC Key Advantage or TLC HDHP prescription drug benefit ID card.

  • Get your flu shot at no charge. It is covered by your prescription drug benefit.

The program includes a number of chain and independent participating retail pharmacies throughout Virginia. There may be changes from last year, so be sure to check the link to your plan below for a list of local pharmacies, a Q&A on the program, and a flyer.

Important: Before getting a flu shot, contact your local Virginia pharmacy to be sure that it administers flu shots and participates in your plan’s free flu shot program. If it does, verify when the shots will be available.

TLC HDHP

There are two other ways to get flu shots at no cost:

• All Key Advantage, TLC HDHP and Kaiser Permanente HMO plan members, including covered dependents, may receive free flu shots in doctor's offices under the wellness benefit. Kaiser plan members also have access to free flu shots at participating medical centers.

•Your local employer may make arrangements with a local pharmacy to bring free flu shots onsite. Check with your employer for local plans and schedules. You may have to pay for the shot if you are not a participating plan member or if the pharmacy does not participate with TLC HDHP or Kaiser Permanente.
