Currently local governments and school systems may select from four self-insured plans. Effective July 1 for plan year 2006-2007, five self-insured plans will be available. While the plans provide similar benefits, the amount the employee pays out of pocket differs by plan.

Employers with 25 or more employees may select any two plans for active employees. Employers with 100 or more employees may choose any three plans as long as one is the regional plan.
